چکیده

This study evaluated how daily vitamin C administration impacts systemic oxidative stress and inflammation its safety in T2D patients. randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, parallel-arm clinical trial included 70 patients with T2D. They were allocated to receive either 500 mg/day of or a matching placebo for 8 weeks. Of the subjects assigned trial, 57 statistical analysis (vitamin C: n = 32, placebo: 25). Inflammatory markers, including advanced glycation end products (AGEs), malondialdehyde (MDA), oxidation protein (AOPP), oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL), highly sensitive C-reactive (hs-CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), ferric reducing ability plasma (FRAP) measured at baseline trial. In addition, tolerance was evaluated. A nutritionist visited all participants standard diabetic regimen. Following supplementation, serum levels MDA (p-value < .001) AGEs .002) demonstrated significant decrease after controlling multiple confounders, age, blood pressure, waist circumference, HbA1C, TG, LDL-C, while no changes observed AOPP .234) ox-LDL .480). The FRAP showed an increasing trend as antioxidant marker but not statistically .312). hs-CRP TNF-α had (p-value: .899 .454, respectively). Also, major adverse events observed. Vitamin supplementation may be beneficial

Advanced glycation end products, dementia, and diabetes.

It is becoming abundantly clear that the insight into the pathological process of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) provided through autosomal dominant variants of the condition is only a partial one. The formation and aggregation of Aβ and the phosphorylation and aggregation of tau are clearly part of the core pathogenesis. However, although these may be necessary processes, and indeed in familial form...

Advanced glycation end-products and advanced oxidation protein products in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Accelerated glycoxidation takes part in the development of diabetic complications. We determined advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) and advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP) in the sera of 52 patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) - 18 with DM Type 1 and 34 with DM Type 2 and examined their relationship to the compensation of the disease. AGEs were estimated spectrofluorimetrically (350 ...

Background: According to the recent studies, vitamin D deficiency has been correlated with progress in type 2 Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of vitamin D supplementation on glucose and lipid profiles, blood pressure, and biomarkers of liver and kidney in type 2 diabetic patients. Methods: In this Double blinded randomized clinical t...

Effects of Parenteral Vitamin D on the Biomarkers of the Endothelial Function in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes and Ischemic Heart Disease: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Vitamin D deficiency is associated with cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Cardiovascular diseases, in turn, are responsible for mortality of patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). We investigated whether a single parenteral dose of 25(OH) Vit D could improve the endothelial function in T2D patients with ischemic heart disease. A randomized, placebo-controlled, and double-blind trial was perf...
